Training is becoming more relevant in High Performance Computing (HPC) as the community which utilizes it grows outside of the traditional hard sciences. Moreover, with new technologies coming online every year, even those with backgrounds in HPC must keep up-to-date with the newest methodologies. Most importantly, users want to be able to show that not only did they attend a training but also that they learned a specific set of skills that can be vouched for. In order to make this possible, XSEDE has begun a Moodle site for users to interact during training events as well as be able to earn beginner, intermediate, or advanced Mozilla badges to show competency. The manner in which standards and assessments are created, as well as preliminary results from our pilot instance of Mozilla badging at an OpenACC training event will be discussed in this work.
